The San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is looking forward to resuming in-person Active Adult activities. To prepare for reopening, we need your input on what would help you feel comfortable returning and what types of activities you would like to participate in when we do resume our programs. Your opinion is very important to us. Please take a few minutes to answer our survey questions by clicking this link to complete our online survey. The deadline to complete the survey is Sunday, April 18, 2021.
Currently, the Activity Center is open at 25% capacity, the same level it was when it closed in December. All regularly scheduled, in-door 50+ Programs continue to be SUSPENDED until further notice, except for Adult Pickleball Open Play. Please click on the Adult Pickleball Open Play Link to see the changes that have been made to that program.
With the 50+ in-door programs put on hold, we have scheduled some 50+ Special Events that we will be conducting out-doors, at the Activity Center parking lot. To view these events like Parking Lot Bingo, please click here to visit our new 50+ Special Events Page.
All participants in any San Marcos Parks and Recreation Program must agree that they have read and understand the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department Release and Waiver of Liability and will have to check a box that Constitutes Acceptance of said Release and Waiver. Please click here to view the Release and Waiver of Liability..
While we are waiting for the rest of our 50+ programs to resume, the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is still your go to place for recreation, leisure, education, health, and wellness resources through COVID-19. We are committed to ensuring that our community members have the resources to maintain healthy and meaningful lives while our programs are temporarily suspended. Please visit our 50+ Virtual Recreation Page and our Virtual Recreation Center for numerous activities, classes, tours and adventures for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
The primary objective of the San Marcos Parks and Recreation 50+ Program is to enhance the quality of life of active, older adults in San Marcos and the surrounding area. Our goal is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle by providing quality informational, educational, physical and social enrichment opportunities.
