Junior Fire Academy
Junior Fire Academy day camp is a chance for children to learn about some of the daily operations of the San Marcos Fire Department and have some fun in the process. The program is open to boys and girls in elementary and middle school. It gives children an opportunity to interact with San Marcos firefighters and make friends with positive role models. The mission of the day camp is to instill camaraderie, servant-leadership, teamwork, self-confidence and citizenship.
Children are introduced to the different facets of firefighting and the equipment used in daily operations by members of the fire department. All campers receive a t-shirt, lunch and snacks free of charge.
