Support/Donations

photos of three police officers with San Marcos PD; one who was killed and two were wounded

San Marcos Police Department is so grateful for the support and love we’ve received in the wake of a tragic police incident on April 18, 2020, that took the life of Officer Justin Putnam and wounded two other SMPD family members: Officer Franco Stewart and Officer Justin Mueller.

We’ve had so many people reach out asking how they can help the families of our officers who were killed or wounded in that incident. Thank you all. Your generosity and caring have not gone unnoticed. We are humbled by the depth of caring from those here in our city and beyond.

Donation funds have been set up for the wounded officers and for the family of fallen Officer Putnam. All donations are tax exempt. Online donations can be made at https://www.smcpaaa.org/donations-putnam-mueller-stewart.

Donations can also be mailed to:
