Join us for upcoming events, classes and programs at San Marcos Public Library! All events are free and open to the public.
Download eBooks from Overdrive Media. The library has contracted with OverDrive Media and joined a consortium of Central Texas libraries to offer eBooks to our patrons free of charge. Set up your account and enter your library card number under My Account to sign up. Visit OverDrive Help if you need assistance or bring your device to the library for personalized help from our staff.
Library customers can access audiobooks through RBdigital, including exclusive content from Recorded Books and titles from all major publishers. Download audiobooks in digital format to your computer and then transfer to your portable listening devices, including MP3, iPads and iPods.
Print from your home computer, laptop, or mobile device to the library printers through PrinterOn. Send your documents through the webpage, download the app on your mobile device, or send your black and white document as an attachment to the San Marcos Library. Documents are kept in the printer queue for 12 hours. Please bring coins or small bills to pay for your prints at the library: ¢10 for black and white, ¢40 for color.
New York Times Digital Access
As a member of the San Marcos Public Library you can access the complete New York Times online. The access code for the library's digital subscription provides ongoing access to NYTimes.com from any computer or device, as well as access to apps on portable devices. Looking to learn a new language? Through the San Marcos Public Library, you have free access to Mango Languages. Mango prepares learners for realistic conversations and strengthens everyday communication skills in over 70 world languages, including English. Simply create a profile, and start your language learning journey!
San Marcos-Hays County Digital Local History Collection
This bibliography offers simple digital access to the contents of the San Marcos-Hays County Local History Collection. Indexed materials include news stories, features, and obituaries, as well as birth, wedding, and engagement announcements. The materials themselves are housed at the library. A valuable research tool, the TexShare Databases include access to full-text magazines, newspapers and genealogy materials for customers of all ages. Call the library at 512-393-8200 to get your free login and password.
Learning Express Library
Whatever your goal, Learning Express Library's resources will help you succeed. SAT, ACT, Compass, GED, GRE, THEA and other test preparation materials are provided. Practice for occupational tests such as firefighter, police officer, nursing, CDL, teacher exams and more. Brush up on your computer skills with classes on Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and other Windows-based programs as well as MAC and Adobe applications.
Each of the Learning Centers offers the practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, eBooks, and information you need to achieve the results you want-at school, at work, or in life. Email the library to get the login information.
In Heritage Quest you'll find U.S. federal census records, family histories, published genealogies, historical books, Revolutionary War records, Freedman's Bank records, and more to help you trace your American ancestors' paths across history. Email the library to get the login information.

Local History Photographs
Enjoy a peek into the beauty and history of San Marcos with our digital photo collection. Old postcards, family photos and event clippings are still being added to this collection.
