Welcome to the City of San Marcos GIS Website
The City of San Marcos Interactive maps allows public access to Geographic Information System (GIS) data in a user-friendly environment. The application is easy to use and can be used with little or no training. Additionally, users can download static maps in pdf format and GIS data layers in shapefile format.

GIS Interactive Maps will be down for scheduled maintenance on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Users will still have access to .pdf maps and zipped shapefiles stored in the Map Library. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The City expects to have new contour data available by the end of the year.
GIS data is available by clicking on the Map Library Link below, in the form of downloadable zipped shapefiles. If you need data that is not available for download, please submit an Open Records Request. The requested information will be sent no later than 10 business days.
These downloads require the use of a GIS data viewer. ESRI provides a free viewer, ArcExplorer, available for download at http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/explorer-desktop/download. Some of the features are very large and may take several minutes to download. All files are NAD 83 State Plane Texas South Central.
