The San Marcos Fire Department will sponsor its 9th Citizens Fire Academy this fall, starting August 12, 2019 and running to November 4, 2019.
The Citizens Fire Academy offers a 12-week course of classroom and hands-on experience to increase fire and life safety awareness, to be aware of the services that the Fire Department provides and promote a positive image of the department to the community. Students also learn about personal protective gear, ground ladders and aerial operations, pump operations, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials, and live fire training with full protective gear and breathing apparatus.
To register you must be a resident or work in San Marcos. Class size is limited to 15 cadets and is free. Don’t wait, spots will fill fast!
