LEGO Mania

November 7, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.


Storytime

November 8, 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Baby Storytime

November 8, 12 p.m.

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


Fall Craft

November 10, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Join us for a craft to celebrate the joys of the fall season. For all ages! Presented by Texas State University and the Association for Childhood Education International.


FAFSA Help

November 10, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Texas State Center for P-16 Initiatives is providing free help for students needing to fill out their FAFSA, (financial aid forms for college) on Sundays from 2 to 5 on November 3rd, November 10th, and November 17th. Anybody, parent or student, that needs help filling out forms for any college are welcome to drop-in during their service hours.


Workforce Development

November 10, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Interested in finding a new job or career? Get help using the computer to complete a job search and complete online applications, talk to a workforce development expert about transitioning careers, learn interviewing techniques, or create a compelling resume.


Interactive Poetry Workshop

November 10, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Poets are invited to share and improve their work through peer support and optional constructive

Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

November 12, 12 p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and fun in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Cuentos, canciones, y diversión en inglés y español.


Free Legal Advice from Licensed Attorneys

November 12, 6 p.m.

Meet one-on-one with licensed attorneys to receive free legal advice on civil legal problems, such as family, housing, consumer, and caregiver authorization. Onsite registration begins at 6 p.m.; legal aid starts at 7 p.m. Must sign in before 7 p.m. to speak with an attorney. Spanish interpreters are available. A supervised waiting area for children is available.


Computer Class

November 13, 10 a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.


Philosophy Dialogues

November 13, 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Adults participate in a round table discussion with students and faculty of the Texas State University Philosophy Department. A House Divided: What Kind of Political Discourse Do We Want? Presented by the Department of Philosophy Applied Ethics Program.
