Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) recently announced the City of San Marcos Keep San Marcos Beautiful program as a winner of the 2020 Public Education and Outreach Award.

Keep San Marcos Beautiful was recognized for educational outreach efforts made on behalf of the Resource Recovery program, litter cleanups and other sustainability initiatives.

“We are very grateful for this recognition of our team’s innovation and hard work. The strength, resiliency and sustainability that powers our efforts comes from our residents and we look forward to continuing to serve them in a manner that is beneficial to all,” said Amy Kirwin, Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager.

The Keep Texas Beautiful Awards recognize individuals and organizations who have committed to enhancing their communities and protecting the Lone Star State. The Public Education and Outreach Award recognizes the public awareness and education efforts of civic organizations and city/county/state government departments in print and/or electronic media in supporting environmental issues.

“We are proud to recognize the individuals and organizations committed to beautifying Texas,” says Suzanne Kho, Executive Director of Keep Texas Beautiful. “Their actions do more than protect the environment: they inspire community members to get involved and help us keep Texas beautiful.”
