[ARCHIVED] Clue: Parks and Rec Edition

Clue logo

Oh no! This quarantine has finally gotten to the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department staff! They are tired of all the cancellations and delays in their fun activities. They wish people could be back in the parks, having fun, making crafts, working out, playing ball, swimming and playing tennis.

Enough is enough! We are done with the evil Dr. Covid who started this pandemic! He must be punished! Are you a good enough detective to figure out which San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department employee finally snapped? Who did it? Where did they do it? What weapon did they use? Clues will be hidden at Purgatory Creek Natural Area (Lower - 2102 Hunter Road), Ringtail Ridge Natural Area (1818 Old Ranch Road 12), and Spring Lake Natural Area (685 Lime Kiln Road) to help solve this crime. There are five clues hidden on the trails at each natural area. Be sure to maintain appropriate social distancing while you investigate, mask up, and please don’t touch or remove the clue!

Search high and low for paper clues along the trails that will mention either a suspect, weapon or location that wasn’t used in the crime (you don’t actually need to visit those parks where the crime may have been committed). You will need to walk, bike or run on each path to make sure you don’t miss any evidence at Purgatory Creek, Ringtail Ridge, and Spring Lake Natural Areas. Once you have figured out this mystery be sure to visit this post and comment that you solved the crime, then email the answer to jmach@sanmarcostx.gov along with how many detectives are in your family. One lucky family will be drawn to win a prize pack including a family membership to the San Marcos Activity Center. (This contest is open to individuals and families.)

DON’T give away the answer online, we want to keep this fun going for and give everyone a chance to figure it out. This mystery will be available from July 11th-24th. Use this gameboard to help solve the mystery.
