[ARCHIVED] Virtual Holiday Shoebox Parade Call for Entries

The City of San Marcos will be hosting the inaugural SMTX Hometown Holiday Shoebox Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, online at 2 p.m.

The parade is dedicated to promoting community engagement, holiday spirit, and shopping local in the great city of San Marcos.

Individuals, children, families, businesses, civic organizations, and non-profits are all invited to participate by decorating a shoebox with theme of choice, submitting the online entry form, and turning it in at one of the drop off locations. There is no cost to participate. 

Drop off dates, times, and locations: 

  •  Thursday, Nov. 12 at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, 202 N. C.M. Allen Pkwy, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 13 at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, 202 N. C.M. Allen Pkwy, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 13 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • Saturday, Nov. 14 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

The San Marcos Public Library will be offering shoebox float packets available for front porch pick up during their modified hours of operation. Details will be released at a later date for an “I Spy” parade watching competition for youth and adults.
