[ARCHIVED] Drop Off Brushy Waste slated for Saturday July 24

NF- Drop Off Brushy Waste

Brush Drop Off LocationThe City of San Marcos Resource Recovery Department will host an additional brushy waste drop-off for residential garbage and recycling service customers this week to support cleaning efforts following recent storms. The drop-off will be available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24.

“We realize there is a lot of tree, shrub and plant damage from the high winds,” said Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager Amy Thomaides. “Our hope is that offering this additional drop off will help the community with their cleanup efforts.”

The brush drop off can be reached by taking the San Marcos Animal Shelter entrance at 750 River Road and following the direction signs.

Acceptable green waste includes trees or brush trimmings, leaves and grass clippings. Brush containing barbed wire or other metals will not be accepted. The service is open only to residential solid waste customers in San Marcos. Residents are invited to load and take ground up mulch on site as available. Residents also have the option of using their green waste carts and up to 12 paper yard bags to dispose of yard waste.
