On Wednesday, August 31, the City of San Marcos named Interim Directors for its Planning & Development Services and Parks and Recreation Departments. Amanda Hernandez will serve as Interim Director of Planning & Development Services. Jamie Lee Case will serve as Interim Director of Parks and Recreation. 
Hernandez has been with the City for nearly 10 years and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Planning. She has managed several important projects, including the 2013 Vision San Marcos comprehensive plan process and multiple complex development agreements.
Case served as the San Marcos City Clerk for nine years before taking on the role of Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in 2019. She has been key in managing the operations and strategic goals of the department to serve the growing community.
“The Planning & Development Services and Parks and Recreation Departments are key to San Marcos and provide essential services to our community,” said Interim City Manager Stephanie Reyes. “We are thrilled to have Amanda and Jamie Lee take on these important leadership roles and are confident their knowledge and experience will continue to enhance services to our community.”
Hernandez’s appointment is effective Thursday, September 1. Case will begin her new role Wednesday, September 7.
