The City of San Marcos introduced a free downtown shuttle service pilot program, ‘Get Around Downtown’ on Nov. 7, 2022. The shuttle is serviced by ECab of North America, and provides visitors, residents, and employees who work in the area a way to get around.
As part of the program, shuttles and fully accessible vehicles will offer rides within the Main Street District, which includes the area bordered by Pat Garrison Street, Aquarena Springs Drive, MLK Drive, and Comanche Street.
“We are excited to offer this fully electric shuttle service to make getting to work or home a little easier in the downtown area,” said Transit Specialist Amy Cogdill. “Everyone is welcome to take advantage of Downtown Get Around to help them get to and from their favorite downtown restaurants and shops.”
Anyone interested in catching a ride can signal to a shuttle in operation, or call the dispatch number at 512-522-5269 to have a vehicle sent to their location.
Service hours will be updated as needed throughout the program and updated at sanmarcostx.gov/downtownelectriccab.
