Is Your Game Plan Set?

Whether you cheer for the Patriots or the Eagles or maybe just watch for the half time show and commericals, the Super Bowl has become an American holiday.  Super Bowl Sunday is the USA's second biggest day for food consumption.  That means a lot of time spent planning and preparing game day snacks.  Before you kick off your menu, take a look at these tips for safer cooking.

  1. Keep anything that can catch fire - oven mitts, wooden utensils, food packages, towels, and curtains away from your stovetop.
  2. Stay in the kitchen when you are fying, boiling, grilling, or broiling food to prevent a fire.
  3. Keep children and pets away from your grill and stove.
    • Have a 3-foot "kid-free zone" around the grill and stove to prevent fires and burns.
