Jane Hughson has been elected Mayor of San Marcos in the Nov. 6 election, and Melissa Derrick has been reelected to Place 6 on the City Council. A runoff election will be called for Places 4 and 5 as no candidate gained more than 50 percent of the vote in those races.
“San Marcos is a great city with so many opportunities! We will continue our economic development efforts for quality jobs, our workforce housing task force, protection of our neighborhoods and the environment through our land development code, and remembering our low and moderate income residents,” said incoming Mayor Jane Hughson. “I look forward to seeing us ALL work together to make San Marcos even more amazing than it is today!”
