San Marcos Public Library ‘Stronger Together’ Volunteer Fair
Saturday, Dec. 8
12 - 2 p.m.
San Marcos Public Library
Looking for a way to give back to the community? A volunteer fair will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 12 - 2 p.m. at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins. The volunteer fair will help library patrons and the general public learn where they can volunteer their time in the community. It also serves as an outreach and networking event for participating organizations.
Last year’s participants met with volunteer coordinators from a wide variety of groups, including the San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance, The San Marcos Youth Service Bureau, School Fuel, A.W.A.R.E., Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Friends of the San Marcos Aquatic Resource Center, Community Action/Head Start, CASA of Central Texas, Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, the San Marcos River Foundation, the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, PAWS Shelter, the Hays County Food Bank, and the public library’s own “StarTeen” program. This second annual volunteer fair will again showcase a variety of organizations in and around San Marcos that need community support to achieve their goals.
People interested in having their organizations represented at the volunteer fair should contact Deborah Carter, Programs and Outreach Librarian, at 512.393.8210 or dcarter@sanmarcostx.gov. Tables need to be reserved by Friday, Nov. 30.
