Original: San Marcos Police are seeking two suspects involved in an isolated stabbing incident that occurred last night at the Sights & Sounds of Christmas event.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at approximately 8:57 p.m., law enforcement personnel working security at Sights and Sounds, 206 N CM Allen, encountered a male subject near the basketball courts in City Park who had been stabbed in the neck while at the festival.

Medical aid was provided to the victim and he was transported to Seton Hays Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

Several witnesses were identified, and two suspects are being sought in the crime.  The offender has been identified by both the victim and numerous witnesses.

“We believe there was an existing disagreement between these individuals that resulted in this incident occurring,” said Chief of Police Chase Stapp.  “The public should feel confident to attend and bring their families to the final three nights of Sights and Sounds and enjoy a safe and festive night of fun.”

Stapp also explained that, “Safety at Sights & Sounds is a top priority and the event is secured by multiple armed law enforcement personnel and additional unarmed security personnel each night.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Detective Aubry at 512.753.2306.
