Wildlife Craft

 June 27, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

 For all ages. Kids under five will need adult help. Crafts take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. All supplies provided.

 

Passport to Reading Challenge & Chat 

 June 27, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

 June’s challenge is to read a book set in the future. Join us for our Book Chat. Bring your ‘Brown Bag’ lunch and chat about books.  

 

Growing Up Wild

 June 27, 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

 Come out to this nature experience! We’ll read books on different nature topics followed by a fun craft or outdoor activity. Ages 4-7 are welcome to attend our 1:30 p.m. session, while ages 8-12 should attend our session at 3:00 p.m. Registration required.

 

Storytime

 June 28, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

 Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.

 

Baby Storytime

 June 28, 12:00 p.m.

 An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!

 

LEGO Mania

 June 28, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.


Free Dance Classes

July 1, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Creative Dance fusing elements of various dance forms such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Modern Dance. These classes will focus on the relationship of body to space and cultivate esteem toward expressing with the body. Some fun elements that will enhance the dancing curriculum are drawing, vocalizing, improvising, and using music as inspiration for “creating a dance,” also known as choreography. Multiple dance classes for ages 5-17. Limited space available. Registration required.

 

Teen Anime Club

July 1, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If you love anime, manga, or Japanese pop culture, come join us for a fun time watching anime films. Socialize, meet new friends, and discuss your favorite series. Light refreshments provided. Ages 12-17.

 

 Storytime

July 2, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.

  

Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

July 2, 12:00 p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and learning in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Historias, canciones y aprendizaje en inglés y español.

  

Stop Motion Animation

July 2, 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.

Make your own mini movies with stop motion. Ages 8 to 14. Registration required. 

 

Family Night! Patriotic Sing-a-Long & Craft

July 2, 7:00 p.m.

Cynthia Gonzalez will lead this patriotic sing-a-long. If you play a guitar, feel free to bring it. Great for all ages! Family Night happens every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in June and July. Each week features a different event for your family to enjoy together.

 

Computer Class

July 3, 10:00 a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.

 

Science Squad

July 3, 11:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Hands-on science experiments make learning fun! For ages 3 to 11. Presented by the Texas State Service Learning Initiative and the Department of Biology. Free Ticket Required, available June 19.

 

1st Wednesday Book Club

July 3, 1:00 p.m.

Adults discuss Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach.

 

Teen Writing Club

July 3, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Do you love to write and want to improve? Come join us for a special writing workshop presented by published author, C.C. Hunter. Ages 12-17.

 

Adult Creative Camp

July 3, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Adult Creative Camp is open to any skill level. Explore your creativity and expression, with encouragement and support. The camp will include visual and written expression, including poetry, collage, songwriting, watercolors, and calligraphy. You will end camp with a book of your own creations. Space is limited - register today!
