Wildlife Craft

July 18, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

San Marcos Public Library

For all ages. Kids under five will need adult help. Crafts take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. All supplies provided.


Growing Up Wild

July 18, 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. 

San Marcos Public Library

Come out to this nature experience! We’ll read books on different nature topics followed by a fun craft or outdoor activity. Ages 4-7 are welcome to attend our 1:30 p.m. session, while ages 8-12 should attend our session at 3:00 p.m. Registration required.


Film Screening & Discussion

July 18, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Join us for a film introduced with a discussion led by an Iranian-American. The film stars a precocious and outspoken Iranian girl growing up during the Islamic Revolution. Light snacks provided, but feel free to bring your own. Please check our website http://sanmarcostx.gov/Library for the title of the film we’ll be showing. Rated PG-13.

Baby Storytime

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


LEGO Mania

July 19, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.


Free Dance Classes

July 22, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Creative Dance fusing elements of various dance forms such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Modern Dance. These classes will focus on the relationship of body to space and cultivate esteem toward expressing with the body. Some fun elements that will enhance the dancing curriculum are drawing, vocalizing, improvising, and using music as inspiration for “creating a dance,” also known as choreography. Multiple dance classes for ages 5-17. Limited space is available. Registration required.


Teen Anime Club

July 22, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

If you love anime, manga, or Japanese pop culture, come join us for a fun time watching anime films. Socialize, meet new friends, and discuss your favorite series. Light refreshments provided. Ages 12-17.

Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

July 23, 12:00 p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and learning in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Historias, canciones y aprendizaje en inglés y español.


Family Night! Puppet Show: Rainbow Goblins

July 23, 7:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

The library puppeteers perform a puppet show for all ages. Family Night happens every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in June and July. Each week features a different event for your family to enjoy together.


Computer Class

July 24, 10:00 a.m. 

San Marcos Public Library

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.

Explore your creative side in this program that gets you designing and creating. Each session there will be craft, art, and maker projects to explore, or you can create your own design. The library provides all materials for suggested activities, but feel free to bring your own projects.


Adult Creative Camp

July 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

Adult Creative Camp is open to any skill level. Explore your creativity and expression, with encouragement and support. The camp will include visual and written expression, including poetry, collage, songwriting, watercolors, and calligraphy. You will end the camp with a book of your own creations. Space is limited - register today!
