
Drought ordinance survey
The City of San Marcos is currently reviewing and proposing amendments to the City drought ordinance. Please take a few moments to help us by completing a brief online survey. Your opinion is very valuable to us, so all customers completing a survey will have the option to enter a drawing for their choice of either a $250 Gardenville gift certificate or a $250 utility bill credit.Two prizes will be awarded, limit one entry per water utility account. Surveys must be completed by December 18th.

Year-Round Water Use Restrictions:
• Waste of water is prohibited at all times.
• Irrigation with sprinklers is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
• Irrigation with hand-held bucket, hand-held hose,soaker hose and drip irrigation systems is allowed on any day and at any time.
• Charity car washes are prohibited unless held at a certified commercial car wash.
• Non-commercial vehicle washing is allowed on any day and at any time but must be done using a handheld bucket or handheld hose equipped with a positive shutoff device.
• Swimming pools are allowed to operate and be filled as normal. It is recommended that pools be covered while not in use to minimize evaporative losses.
• Operation of non-recirculating aesthetic water features is prohibited at all times.
• Washing of impervious surfaces is allowed but should be limited unless required for health and safety.

• Irrigation with sprinklers is allowed only one day per week on the designated weekday between the hours of midnight to 10 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to midnight. |
