    50+ San Marcos Game Day Club: Meets every Monday- except City Holidays! Join the San Marcos Game Day Club. This social club meets every Monday at the San Marcos Activity Center, Meeting Room 1, from 12:30-4 PM. Game materials for Bridge, Mexican Train Dominoes, Hand & Foot, and 42 are provide. New members are welcome. Pre-Registration is required, same day registration is not allowed. Members, make sure you arrive on time to get in on a game! Call Parks & Recreation at 393-8400.

  1. AARP Smart Driver Course

    October 14, 2019, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ San Marcos Public Library

    The AARP Smart Driver course is designed for drivers age 50 and older as a refresher for driving skills and road knowledge. Instruction includes proper use of new technology in cars, techniques for handling turns, and state-specific rules of the road. This class does not count toward Defensive Driving requirements. Register through the library, but textbook fees will be paid to the instructor on the day of class. Cost for textbook is $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members. Please bring cash or check (made out to AARP).

  2. Indigenous Peoples’ Day

    October 14, 2019, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ San Marcos Public Library

    Indigenous playwrights Maria F. Rocha and Roxanne Schroeder-Arce discuss the adaptation process of their children's play, Yana Wana's Legend of the Bluebonnet, during which they uncovered many culturally incorrect sources written by non-indigenous people. The adaptation process, which began as an effort to expand public awareness of their history and traditions, became a deeply meaningful journey of cultural reclamation.
