60+ S.M.A.S.H. Bowling Social

Join us every month for a SMASH Social Club, Bowling Social. The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation and Sunset Bowling Lanes are hosting a Bowling Social each month. These bowling events are for ages 60 and above and will be held from 2-4 PM at Sunset Bowling Lanes, 1304 HWY 123, San Marcos, TX. The fee for this event is $5.00/ person and includes shoe rental and 2 games of bowling. We do ask that you RSVP to nriali@sanmarcostx.gov , call (512) 393-8275 or register for this event by visiting www.sanmarcostx.gov/activesmtx and clicking on activities, so we can get a head count to reserve enough lanes. The $5.00 cost will be paid to Sunset Bowling on the day of the event. For more information call 393-8400. Bring a friend, it will be a SMASH!

Book Matchmaking

Let our librarians play matchmaker! Take a chance and let us set you up on a book date. If you’re lucky, you may even find your next favorite book or author! Fill out the linked form to participate. Based on your preferences we will place two books on hold for you. You must have a San Marcos Public Library card to participate.

Early Literacy Playroom

Children learn through play! Families can explore hands-on activities designed to teach early literacy skills to children under 5. Walk-in appointments available Mon-Sat, 10 am until 1 hour before the library closes. Limited to one group at a time, for one hour. Disinfected daily.

Free HVAC Classes

Must be eligible to work in the US, have a high school diploma or GED, and not higher than an associate degree from a US college. Need volunteer hours for school? Want to give back to the community? Join our teen service club! This month we’ll be making a zine filled with book, movie, and tv show recommendations for other teens. For ages 12-17.

Jennifer’s Book Chat

If you’d like to start reading outside your comfort zone, this program is for you! The goal of Jennifer’s Book Chat is to discover new books, authors, and hidden gems within our stacks! Staff member Jennifer will announce a surprise topic at each meeting and together we’ll select books to discuss at the next meeting.

Poetry @ the Public

Join us for a monthly poetry share hosted by poet and library staff member E.D. Watson. This event will take place every third Thursday of the month.

Night Owl BUJO (Bullet Journaling)

Are you a night owl? Got thoughts swirling around in your head? Join us on Zoom with your bullet journal. We use the time to create next month’s template, enjoy a beverage, and chat. For ages 18 and up. Registration required.
