In Septemberr, 2005, City Council granted a ten-year contract to Operations Management International (OMI, Inc.) to operate and maintain the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant is permitted to receive an average daily flow (ADF) (maximum month) of 9 million gallons per day (MGD) and peak wet weather flow (PWWF) of 18 MGD, but the treatment process has been rated for a capacity of 7.6-MGD-ADF.
In 2008, the WWTP treated 1,555 million gallons of wastewater with an Annual Average Daily Flow of 4.25MGD.
Odor control modifications were completed in August, 2006 resulting in a 99% decrease of odors in the area.
