City Seeks Nominees for Women's Hall of Fame
The City of San Marcos is seeking nominations of outstanding local women to induct into the San Marcos Women's Hall of Fame at its 27th annual ceremony in November.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, September 9 at 5 p.m. Entry forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office, Grant Harris Jr. Building, 401 E. Hopkins St. San Marcos, or on line at www.sanmarcostx.gov/fame.
The San Marcos Women's Hall of Fame began in 1984 to honor women for their volunteerism and leadership in the community. Since then, 113 women have been inducted in the hall of fame.
The Parks & Recreation Department will host the 27th Annual Women's Hall of Fame Reception on Wednesday, November 2 at 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Rec Center (previously City Park Rec Hall). The reception will honor women who have made meaningful contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.
